UC President Mark Yudof has announced proposals to put the University of California finances on sound footing. He will ask the UC Board of Regents at their Nov. 16 to 18 meeting to approve an 8 percent student fee increase ($822) and an expansion of financial aid for low- and middle-income students. Yudof is also proposing changes in employee retirement benefits, which Regents are expected to vote on in December.
